Arsenal have entered negotiations with Celtic over the permanent transfer of Kieran Tierney, according to BBC Sport.
The Scotland international was expected to leave the Gunners last summer, but a transfer did not materialise after his hamstring injury at Euro 2024.
Tierney recently made his first appearance of the season for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-final and that could end up being his last for them.
Celtic have today opened negotiations with the Gunners and they could agree a small transfer fee for the defender’s transfer in the coming days.
Arsenal had the option to extend Tierney’s deal for another 12 months, but they opted against the clause as he is not in manager Mikel Arteta‘s plans.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires on June 30. The Gunners are most likely to accept a nominal fee this winter than lose him on a free transfer.
Tierney has already agreed personal terms with Celtic ahead of a possible reunion. He is unlikely to make Arsenal’s squad for the Brighton trip.
