Agatep’s appointment, approved through CHED’s Commission en banc Resolution No. 428-2024, reflects his decades of leadership in public relations, communication, and marketing. His leadership roles include serving as President of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), Chairman of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As), and board director for the Global Alliance for PR and Communication Management, among others.
In his role as a member of the Technical Panel, Agatep will contribute to critical initiatives for the advancement of communication education, including the formulation of a five-year roadmap for the discipline. “The need for responsive and forward-thinking programs in broadcasting, communication, and journalism has never been greater,” Agatep said. “In a time when misinformation and disinformation abound, and as emerging technologies like AI reshape the way we share information, it is critical to equip students with the tools to meet these challenges while fostering ethical, impactful communication.”

“I look forward to working closely with CHED and my fellow panel members to nurture the future leaders of the communication industry.
